The holy grails in our makeup bags

By  |

Liberty Belle’s Beauty Editors Madeleine Gill and Hesther Farge give an insight into their makeup bags and what products are *holy grail* status.

As someone who has battled with years of dry, sensitive skin, I’ve come to realise that your tools and foundation are game changers when it comes to combating these issues. Additionally, my student budget is limited, so finding staple products that delivers high quality for a low price is a makeup miracle.

  1. Beauty Blender (£17)

Whilst it may not be a new product on the beauty scene, this remains a cult favourite for a reason. A damp beauty blender ensures a flawless blend and the tool saves me from splurging out on multiple brushes. Now we are in the midst of the Northern winds, my skin is thirsty and this staple tool never disappoints.

2. IT Cosmetics- Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream (£31)

I never thought that my holy grail foundation could be a CC cream, yet IT Cosmetics’ hydrating, complexion correcting cream deserves its number one status. Due to CC creams being part moisturiser, this ensures a dewy finish and is the ultimate foundation dream.

3. Revolution Ultra Brow Palette Light to Medium, Medium to Dark (£7.99)

For under £8, this palette includes four brow powders, two brow gels, a pencil, a brow highlighter, a concealer and a pair of tweezers. The shade range enables for an ombre, natural diffused brow; the palette is high quality, highly pigmented and the powders are easily blendable- a makeup steal!

I’m extremely impulsive when it comes to buying makeup. When I see something I like I have to buy it, no matter how much my bank account begs me not to.

Like Hesther, I have makeup staples such as the beloved and iconic beauty blender but these are my three makeup products worthy of recognition and that I can’t live without.

  1. L’Oréal Lash Architect Mascara (£10.99)

For me, having long and thick eye-lashes is an absolute must and this mascara DELIVERS. The wand provides a perfect angle to grab every single lash and the clump-free formula ensures that dreamy, wispy look you’re dying for. Who needs false eyelashes when you have this?

2. Dr PawPaw Multipurpose Soothing Balm (Price Varies with Size)

I was only introduced to this product this year (thank you, dear step-sister) but I have used it everyday since without fail. This lip-balm is insanely hydrating, smooths the lips and gives the impression of fuller lips, as well as providing a perfect base for lip products. With winter just around the corner, this affordable product is a must-have.

3. Zoeva Cocoa Blend Palette (£18)

Considering its relatively low price for an eyeshadow palette, the pay-off and quality of this product is fantastic. With a beautiful range of colours, users can create a variety of versatile looks with minimal effort, due to the palette’s high-quality pigment. P.S. the packaging is stunning too!

So there you have it, those are the hidden gems in our makeup bags. What products in your makeup bags do you think are worthy of holy-grail status?
