SS17 Beauty Trends

By  |

As we get ever so closer to the end of February, we are edging further and further towards Spring. And a new season means new trends and new looks. We’ve trawled through the various Fashion Week runways to select the key trends, and suggest ways that you can realistically and subtly recreate them.

Lower lids

It might finally be time to let your upper eye line take the back seat when it comes to liner and shadow. The lower lash line is having it’s day. But forget heavy kohl eyeliner and brush off your sparkly pigment or shadow to freshen it up. The look can be achieved with high street products, with brands such as Rimmel and KIKO bringing out stunning shades. Simply dampen an angled eye shadow brush and you’re ready to go.

Bold eyeliner

Now that being said, bold and quirky eye liner is also big on the runways at the moment. Be as extravagant or as elegant as your mood takes you. Brown and dark blue liners are one way of subtly adding colour. Get yourself a felt-pen style liner from Collection, which is perfect for intricate shapes and lines.

Dewy skin

The season for matte skin/lips/errthang is behind us. Stepping into (slightly??) warmer weather will mean chilling out with the matte powder. Natural, glowing skin is in. It’s time to slowly start introducing that bronzer back into your routine. Adding a subtle highlighter to the tops of the cheekbones and the bridge of the nose is one way to try out this trend.

Berry lips

Eh what? Berry lips in Spring? The vampy look has been freshened up. Blot the colour and apply highlighter to the centre of the lips and carry this lip colour through to the next season.
