Check out what beauty products Liberty Belle Contributor, Maimoonah Abbas, has been loving this month…

The right skincare products can lead to healthy and glowy skin – the perfect canvas for makeup.

Mario Badescu: Facial Spray With Aloe, Herbs And Rosewater:

Can we just get an AMEN. This leaves my skin feeling so hydrated, a little spritz of this after moisturising and just before applying my makeup and I’m good to go. Your skin will feel so refreshed. It’s affordable, smells good and perfect for a dewy look. A couple sprays of this and I’m glowing without the need of highlighter!

The Body Shop: Vitamin E Collection:

If you have dry skin, this Body Shop range is the one for you. The products work wonders!

I love two products in particular: Vitamin E Aqua Boost Essence Lotion (£10 at thebodyshop.com), this honestly revives my skin, I feel super fresh after applying it and it smooths out the texture of my skin. After washing my face, I apply this as a base and this helps to absorb my moisturiser so that my skin is pre-plumped with hydration.

Also, the Vitamin E Moisture Cream (from £13 at thebodyshop.com) is the perfect lightweight facial moisturiser that locks in all that moisture and helps relieve my dry skin, which is essential with the harsh winds this month. Nothing feels as good as having smooth, nourished cheeks!

Blistex Relief Cream:

This is a lip lifesaver! It’s meant for mainly cold sores, and seriously cracked lips, however I use this every day. It’s the way forward for long-lasting plump and smooth lips – a lip moisturiser I never knew I needed. This is my base for every lipstick, they all easily glide on over the top. If you’re a fan of matte lipsticks, you won’t need to worry about them drying your lips out when wearing this. Grab one of these and your Valentine’s kisses will be transformed.

With makeup this month, I’m feeling youthful, glowy, fresh and flirty.

bareMinerals: bareSkin Complete Coverage Serum Concealer:

I wear this for a natural sheer dewy look, it’s lightweight and it brightens up the areas under your eyes and certain points of your face without looking cakey. My makeup looks super smooth and the product is quite hydrating.

Smashbox: Always On Liquid Lipstick (shade: Stepping Out):

Smashbox is so underrated! This liquid lipstick lasts for hours (even after you’ve ate a messy burger!). It’s the only matte lipstick I wear that doesn’t dry out my lips and it barely feels like you’re wearing anything. The pigmentation is also great. The colour ‘Stepping Out’ is a perfect mauve/brown nude shade that goes with any look – charming and girly.

BECCA: Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter (shade: Champagne Pop)

I can’t express my love for this highlighter enough. I’ve had it for four years and it’s still going. BECCA highlighters have the smoothest formula for a powder highlighter. It’s definitely worth the price – nothing beats it. It’s super-pigmented, so a little goes a long way. Creamy and buildable, I apply it using my fingers before blending it out to create a fresh glowy complexion with a natural radiance. It really makes you shine rather than sparkle and so you can get a dewy, “glass skin” makeup look.

£30, available from cultbeauty.co.uk

The Ordinary: Coverage Foundation:

The cheapest foundation I’ve tried, this can give you a really good full coverage which still looks natural. It’s lightweight, simple and makes your skin look (and feel!) great.

£5.95, available from cultbeauty.co.uk

KIKO: 3D Hydra Lipgloss:

This is my go-to clear gloss. It’s one of the glossiest out there, lovely and thick. I apply this to any coloured lipstick when I want added shine to make my lips look plump and kissable, and this also saves me money instead of buying certain different coloured lip glosses. So there you go – get yourself the perfect glossy lip for February.
