How to wear the blazer trend

By  |

Blazers have made their way out of the office and onto the high street. The trend has grown in popularity over the past months and we know why; the possibilities are endless and can be styled to any occasion. Blazers have us feeling effortlessly put together, even on the days when we aren’t. When you look good in a blazer, you’ll feel good too.

They give off an air of sophistication and can be the key to any night-out look. There’s been a shift in the styles we wear on nights out, with the blazer dress being relatively new to the scene. Many people now see putting a blazer on top of their outfit as their night-out staple. Despite this, blazers are not confined to just the evening. As university students, we can all relate to how it feels when you want to look presentable but have no idea what to wear. Look no further than a blazer. Being such a transitional piece means it can be styled to suit both day and night.

One of the most popular patterns is check, as it can introduce a pop of colour to any outfit. A patterned blazer appears stylish but is effortless when paired with black clothes beneath it. Let the blazer speak for itself and be the key element of your outfit. Pairing too many patterns together can be overwhelming to the eye – try to limit your outfit to just one. If you choose a plain, coloured blazer, why not experiment with a patterned top, which incorporates the colour of the blazer, beneath it.

Double breasted, notched collar, open front and longline – are all among the many styles, there is one to suit all. If you’re looking to keep the blazer in the office, a tailored, notched collar blazer may be the one. However, if you’re looking for a more relaxed and casual fit, an open front or longline blazer may be more suitable. If a blazer is yet to feature in your wardrobe, now is the time to find one. You’ll look like the girl boss you’ve always wanted to be.
