FACE Makeup Studio Review

By  |

Here’s why you need to book an appointment in. Like, right now.

Recently, I had the pleasure of going to get my makeup done at the Face Makeup Studio in Sheffield. I had followed one of their makeup artists, Niamh Kimpton, on Instagram for weeks and I was so excited when we managed to agree on a day for me to come in.

Now, I’ve had my makeup done a fair few times by different makeup artists over the year (both good and bad) but never have I physically gone into a salon, been sat down in front of those glorious big-ringed lights and pampered for as long as I had that day.

I arrived a little early and watched a band of bridesmaids come and go. The salon physically looked amazing: the baby-pink interior, the huge mirrors, the cherry blossom hanging from the ceiling and more makeup products than I have ever seen in my life. As I waited, the makeup-artists were lovely and chatty as they worked whilst my makeup artist Niamh finished another client.

Then it was my turn. After cleaning her brushes, Niamh sat me down and we talked through what look I wanted to go for. We opted for a brown smoky eye with a pink shimmery lid and a nude lip and we started straight away.

First, we started with the eyes and then moved onto the face. At every single step Niamh asked me if I liked what she was doing or if I wanted to change anything and she did everything I asked for, plus more, whilst happily chatting away to me about our dogs and a shared love in false eyelashes. The result? A face of makeup that I never wanted to take off and a face of makeup that didn’t budge for 12 hours.

I would definitely recommend popping in to the studio for a makeup appointment. The salon also does hair, eyelash extensions and so much more- there is something for everyone. Below is a list of the products Niamh used on me if you want to know what went into the finished look!
