Classic festive makeup looks

By  |

It’s Christmas!

It’s everyone’s favourite season and, with plenty of parties coming up, we’re all dying to look our best and to stand out. Here are the festive makeup staples that will have you partying all the way through to the new year- or, should I say, the new decade!

  • The Sparkly Eyeshadows

You can rock sparkly eyeshadow wherever and whenever you want during the year but it’s a well- known fact that sparkles come to play at Christmas. Pair a gorgeous glittery gold eye with long fluttery eyelashes and you’ll be the talk of the party.

Products I recommend: Natasha Denona ‘Metropolis’ Palette or Stila Cosmetics ‘Magnificent Metals Shimmer and Glow’ liquid eyeshadows.

  • The Bold Lip

A gorgeous berry lipstick will become a staple in your makeup bag around this period. Not to be feared, a dark or more dramatic lip can elevate and up the sophistication in any look; maybe just have a friend nearby for lipstick on the teeth emergencies.

Products I recommend: Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in ‘Birkin Brown’ or Huda Beauty’s Power Bullet Matte Lipstick in ‘Ladies Night’.

  • The Sultry Smoke

Another festive makeup-look to rock this Christmas is a smoked out eye. Don’t be afraid of colour either: play with silver, bronze or even red to really make a statement at any family or friend do.

Products I recommend: Urban Decay ‘Naked Smoky’ palette or ‘Smoky Eyeshadow Palette’ by Zoeva.

  • The Blinding Highlight

Want to sparkle more than the lights on the Christmas tree? Then don’t be afraid to layer on that highlight. Putting a pressed highlighter product over the top of a liquid one will have you shining brighter than any old reindeer’s nose.

Products I recommend: ‘Born to Glow’ Liquid Illuminator by NYX or Becca ‘Shimmering Skin Perfecter’ in the shade ‘Opal.’

  • The Gorgeous Glitter

Christmas is a time to have fun and be bold. Pop on a touch of glitter either to the cheekbones, eyes (or wherever the hell you want) and catch everyone’s eye this season. Who says glitter is just for kids?

Products I recommend: NYX Pigments or ‘Holiday Loose Glitter Kit’ by Anastasia Beverly Hills.

So there you have it, a festive guide to your beauty looks this Christmas. Give them a go!
