Beauty on a budget: The best brands that don’t break the bank

By  |

Being on a student loan is hard enough, with having to pay for rent, going out with friends, as well as trying to look presentable on a tight budget- it’s a juggling act. Here are our top 5 beauty brands that won’t break the bank and have products you will love. From makeup to perfume, we’ve got you covered.

Makeup

1. Revolution
After its arrival in 2013 with a goal of having “quality makeup accessible to everyone”, Makeup Revolution has taken the beauty world by storm. From lip kits to highly pigmented eye shadow palettes, there is every kind of beauty product for an everyday makeup look to night glam. The brand is also cruelty-free and 76% of their products are vegan. The brand also has different categories so whether you’re a pro at makeup, or just want your eyeshadow palettes to look and smell like a chocolate bar, they are guaranteed to have everything that you need.

Hair

2. Batiste- Dry Shampoo
Any girl who’s having a bad hair day needs to know about this brand. Dry Shampoo is a life saver, especially with those 9am lectures! Not only does it give your greasy hair that much-needed revitalisation, it also is great for those days you need more texture in your hair or are wanting to achieve the perfect messy bun.

A product you will love: Tropical (£2.99 for 200ml)

Skincare

3. Garnier
Now I had to put Garnier on here because of my love for Micellar water. After a full day of university, taking my makeup off with Micellar water not only cleanses my skin but easily removes mascara, foundation… you name it, without having to drag it over the skin. It is also great if you have sensitive skin! Every girl must have this in her beauty routine.

A product you will love: Garnier Micellar Water (£3.99 for 400ml)

4. Neutrogena
Going from hot lectures to braving the cold around campus, at this time of year the changing climates can be very drying for our skin. However, Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Moisturiser really keeps your skin hydrated and is definitely a cheaper alternative to the more expensive Clinique Moisture Surge. So, if you have dry skin and haven’t tried this product already, you’re definitely missing out!

Fragrance

5. Superdrug
So, I came across this body spray after looking for something small enough to fit into my bag without weighing down my already heavy load that carries around my laptop and notebooks for uni. This affordable body spray from Superdrug may be small but is very strong and I often get complimented on it when I’m out. So, if you’re looking for a body spray that is easy to throw in your bag then I recommend you try it.

A product you will love: Paradise or Sorbet Scent (but I love them all!) (£1.98)

So, there you have it, my top 5 affordable brands that will leave you glowing without you having to blow your student loan.
